HOW TO HEAT & STORE OUR PRODUCTS
TORTILLAS
To heat up your delicious tortillas, follow these simple steps for a warm and tasty meal:
If frozen, thaw naturally in the refrigerator the day before use.
1. Warm a frying pan over medium heat.
2. Once the pan is hot, place a tortilla in it and heat for about 15 seconds on each side. Repeat for each tortilla, ensuring they warm evenly for a total of 30 seconds each.
3. If you're not serving the tortillas immediately, wrap them in a clean cloth to keep them warm and maintain their moisture.
4. Add your favorite toppings and ingredients to the tortillas while they're still warm for the best flavor and texture.
STORING
Refrigeration: Store them in the fridge to extend freshness for about a week.
Freezing: Layer each tortilla with parchment or wax paper, place them in a freezer bag, and store for up to 6 months. When you're ready to use them, thaw and reheat using the method above.
MASA
Defrost using one of the methods below:
1.Refrigerator:
Place the frozen masa in the refrigerator and let it thaw overnight.
This method is slow but ensures even defrosting without compromising its texture.
2. Microwave:
In a rush? Defrost the masa in the microwave.
Use a microwave-safe dish, loosely cover with plastic wrap, and select the defrost setting. Pause every minute to check and rotate for uniform thawing.
3. Room Temperature:
Need a quicker option? Let the masa thaw at room temperature.
Cover it with a cool, damp towel on the counter to retain moisture and speed up the process.
Restoring Consistency:
After defrosting, knead the masa thoroughly for at least 15 minutes to restore its texture.
If it feels dry, gradually add water or broth until the desired consistency is achieved.
Should the masa become too moist, let it air dry briefly or microwave it in short intervals to reduce excess moisture.
